Who are Entrepreneurs?
Entrepreneurs are the masters. They create a business on their own strength. They lead one idea that runs in the minds of many by creating it into a teamwork and reach millions. With the right entrepreneurial spirit, these entrepreneurs today are creating a revolution. If people like Lilly Singh would never have become Superwoman, our idea of Youtube would be limited to recreation and leisure and the idea of entrepreneurship would’ve not reached teenagers so broadly.
Last year around this time, Sumeet had this feeling of discomfort filling him up till the brim. He has had these feeling coming back and forth at him since past few months. Still, somehow he suppressed them but wasn’t able to do that anymore. When Nadia took credit for the ideas he had about increasing the fan base, he felt lost. When Suhaas limited his involvement in the new social project, he just could not take it. Mom had told him a lot of times to work on his own idea even it means to start from scratch. The time had finally come for this. But there had to be something more that this pressure to boost his entrepreneurial spirit. His maid’s family situation finally gave him the boost to step up. Sumeet wanted to make a theatre driven group of individuals who work as apps and news feed for all people in the streets, in the slums. This way people will become aware of the facilities government has availed for them and how to use them. He started the work.
There was some homework to be done before he actually started to promote him. Ideals of a good entrepreneurial business and to boost your entrepreneurial spirit are;
1.Risk Taking-
Sumeet realised that working on this business could cost him a lot of money and his savings could either be gone or multiplied. To make the latter happen, he would have to take all risks and before that will have to learn better risk management skills. But firstly, will have to make amends and believe that what he’s doing is right.
2.Creativity-
Sumeet knew that it’ll need him excellent creative skills to run such an organisation. To make people come to the performers. To make the performers reach all unaware people. Now he didn’t have a chance of losing the credits for his ideas to Nadia.
3.Skills-
The right skill to make this business successful was one of the most important factors. Therefore, Sumeet was doing all that he could to learn how to set up the organisation and had ideas for building more skilled people base for the recruiters. When creativity comes with no skill of entrepreneurship, it hangs in our drawing rooms and not in art galleries.
4.Team-
Sumeet wanted a team which could encourage his ideas and goals. For that, he made his own rules to recruit people in his organisation. He created posters social media pages, workshops in colleges and much much more which introduced him to a team he wanted. It did take him 5 months though.
5.Independence-
Entrepreneurs enjoy the power of independence in their business. Independence in creating something with your ideas, goals and thoughts gets the utmost joy and satisfaction for a person. When working for another firm, Sumeet had to work according to his bosses and thus his creativity couldn’t flourish to the best of his capabilities. In his own business, Sumeet could experiment with his own ideas.
Instead of the amazing revolution that entrepreneurs are bringing to the world, India is still lacking behind in this business. Only 38.8% of the Indian population believes that entrepreneurship is a good career choice. This mindset and several other driving forces don’t let many Sumeets stand up for their dreams. Some of those constraints are; lack of funds, government regulation, complex tax structures, no entrepreneurial education in primary or secondary school levels and other cultural & social norms.
Where at one side of the coin shows how very few entrepreneurs in India come up and build their industries, on the other side more than 33% entrepreneurs in the silicon valley are Indians. So to let them find an abode in their own country and flourish here, they need to be given those opportunities.
Sumeet built his team and started his work from a small village in Madhya Pradesh. With a lot of failures and resilience, today Sumeet’s organisation has led to an enormous increase in literacy rates. It is spread across the entire country and is preparing for its project in Bhutan. If Sumeet wouldn’t have tried and stood strong, he would be among the various employees in his previous firms; unhappy, unsatisfied and mentally tired. But he held his courage in his hand and stood out there. Can you build the same resilience after failures and pump up your entrepreneurial spirit? Do you have the same strength?
