The Yet Another Related Posts Plugin
YARPP is, as the name suggests Yet Another Related Posts Plugin. It is a great plugin to be used to increase readability and viewers in your website. What YARPP is mostly known for is to list posts and pages through relatability, both in your dashboard and website. For example, if you’re reading an article on Developer’s Nation’s website about the YARPP, towards the end of it you’ll find a related posts link. Under this link will be listed all the blog posts about other plugins that we’ve written about. And, if there are no blog posts related to wordpress plugins available, it’ll show posts about wordpress which means the closest related option.
It’s main features according to wordpress are,
-the availability of thumbnails or list view of related content.
-Templating- an advanced control of how your results are displayed.
-advanced and versatile algorithms; this means that YARPP displays all the categories a post falls in, in relation to its tags and content.
-related posts in feed- the one I mentioned above, which is the display of related content in the particular feed.
Also, to add on my personal thoughts I’d say the reason this plugin is so feasible is that it is very easy to access, is free and doesn’t require manual labour. And we all enjoy shortcuts, don’t we?
How do we access it?
For this, I’ll give you a step by step description of what you need to do;
1.Open the page wordpress.org.
2.Go to the plugin directory.
3.Search for YARPP and download the first link.
4.Open the downloaded file and unzip it by saving it as a folder.
5.Open the file in FileZilla, connect it to your site and let it transfer the plugin file.
6.Open your WordPress admin dashboard.
7.Look for the plugin in the PLUGINS option and activate it.
8.Now, cause the plugin should work according to the theme of your site, you’ll have to open the YARPP folder on your desktop.
9.Open files from the folder- open the theme folder-choose the theme and activate it.
10. Now, as you’ve already chosen the theme all you need to do is to select all the files from the folder and drag them to FileZilla. This will get the files uploaded on your site automatically.
11.In your WordPress admin dashboard-settings-under plugins, you’ll find the YARPP.
12.Open the plugin.
13.The pool appears. Check the SHOW ONLY POSTS section.
14.The RELATED options can be left as default.
15.Now let’s move on to the DISPLAY option. In the ‘automatically display related posts’ check mark it and let the maximum posts number be same as default.
16.Choose the other display options according to your feasibility.
17.Choose the ‘update options’ bar.
Congratulations, your setup is now complete. You can go, check your site and come back to our site later for more such posts. Happy reading.
